Lukas Pauer

 

Lukas Pauer, MSc Arch ETH SIA, MAUD, born 1988, is a licensed architect, urbanist, and educator. His work focuses on innovative design generation techniques for urbanization processes yet to be visualized both within and outside of spatial practice. Lukas holds an MAUD from Harvard University and an MSc Arch ETH from ETH Zürich. Before joining Herzog & de Meuron Architekten, Lukas has led design studios, co-taught history/theory seminars, supervised thesis students, and conducted original research at RMIT University, the BAC, and Columbia University after co-teaching intensive studios with Luis Callejas at Harvard University, and the AHO. He has published in periodicals such as the UCLA Planning Journal and given public lectures at institutions including Oxford University, VUW and the IDEA League.

His forthcoming publication with Melbourne Books, entitled Growing Islands Growing Nations, will focus on how landscape architecture has become central to the geopolitics of claiming sovereignty through establishing a territorial footprint.
